BREEAM® Certification
Our commitment to
Sustainable living
At Altaona Sports & Wellness Resort, sustainability is not just a feature -it is the foundation of everything we do. We are shaping a destination where nature, people, and design combine to create a long-term value, wellbeing, and environmental harmony.
Our goal is to lead, by example in responsible development, while offering residents and guests a premium, future-focused lifestyle.
Environmental
Responsability
We view nature as our most valuable partner. Every building, landscape, and system at Altaona are designed to regenerate ecosystems, reduce emissions, and create long-term resilience.
Sustainable
Homes
Our residential developments incorporate robust environmental strategies, for long-term resilience and low environmental impact, featuring:
Every property is designed to meet A-rated energy certification.
SISMO structural building system, which improves thermal insulation, reduces construction waste, and significantly enhances energy efficiency.
Green roofs promote biodiversity, moderate indoor temperatures, and improve stormwater management.
Photovoltaic solar panels generate renewable electricity on-site.
Smart orientation, natural shading, and cross-ventilation to reduce energy use and enhance indoor comfort year-round.
Sustainable landscaping uses native plant species to reduce water demand and promote biodiversity, creating a thriving local ecosystem.
BREEAM® "Very Good"
Certification in progress
We are proud to share that the hotel, lifestyle rental apartments, and serviced senior living apartments at Altaona are being designed to meet the criteria for BREEAM® “Very Good” certification -a globally recognized benchmark of sustainability in the built environment. This certification will validate our commitment to:
Solar PV panels and geothermal systems to reduce carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels.
Water-saving infrastructure, including rainwater harvesting and greywater reuse. Rainwater collection systems support irrigation needs, and our onsite water treatment facility recycles wastewater to maintain the golf course and green areas—conserving valuable resources and protecting local waterways.
Passive design strategies that optimize natural light, ventilation, and thermal performance.
Sustainable material sourcing, emphasizing low-embodied-carbon and local supply chains.
Construction waste minimization and circular resource strategies.
Biodiversity protection and habitat restoration, including the planting of over 10.000 native trees.
Social wellbeign
and Inclusion
We are designing Altaona as a multigenerational community that champions inclusivity, autonomy and wellbeing:
Serviced apartments for seniors are tailored to provide dignity, comport and social connectivity.
Universal accessibility ensures ease of movement and uses across all resort amenities.
Wellness programs integrate fitness, nutrition, and holistic therapies, offered by top-tier specialists.
Community involvement through local employment, cultural programming, and artisanal partnerships is prioritized.
Governance &
ESG accountability
Our commitment to ethical development and ESG principles, guides every decision:
ESG goals are embedded into governance, construction, procurement, and operational policies.
Stakeholder alignment ensures transparency and collective responsibility.
Performance is tracked via sustainability KPIs and shared through annual impact reporting.
